Sharon's legal practice is devoted almost exclusively to the representation of school districts on matters relating to special education and Section 504. Sharon's educational background includes a masters degree in clinical psychology and a specialist degree in school psychological services. Her past professional experience includes ten years as a school psychologist. She has also served as an adjunct instructor at Central Michigan University in the area of education of the learning disabled.

In addition to representing school districts, Sharon has served as a hearing officer in special education due process hearings and has previously served on the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Task Force with the Michigan Department of Education. She is currently the legal consultant to Michigan Part H grant on procedural safeguards. She is the immediate Past-President of Child and Family Services of Michigan, Inc., Capitol Area and the current President of the Capitol Area ADD Network. A co-editor of the Ounce of Prevention News, Sharon is the author of a manual entitled Ways Through the Maze: Section 504 and ADA.

In her spare time, Sharon enjoys sailing, swimming, walking the beach, watching sunsets and evening stars, skiing, rollerblading, biking and New York Times crossword puzzles.
